PORTSMOUTH, N.H., Sept. 07, 2017 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Medtronic (NYSE:MDT), a global medical device company with offices at the Pease Tradeport in Portsmouth, has been named the Best Company to Work For in New Hampshire for the fourth year in a row. The announcement was made last week by Business NH Magazine and is based on a judging process conducted with New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility (NHBSR). Medtronic is featured in the magazine’s September issue, where the full list of winners appears. The company, which will be inducted into the competition’s Hall of Fame this year, will be among several other New Hampshire employers celebrated at the Breakfast with the Best event on October 19 at Grappone Conference Center in Concord.
“We’ve always celebrated our unique combination of start-up culture and big-company resources and benefits,” said Suzanne Foster, vice president and general manager of Medtronic Transformative Solutions (MTS), which is part of the Restorative Therapies Group. “Being recognized with the #1 Best Company distinction four years in a row is the best validation we can receive.”
According to the “Best Company” application, the competition looks for “the businesses whose employees love their jobs, have great benefits, are treated fairly and take pride in the work they do.” The application process includes an online engagement survey that must be completed by at least 50 percent of employees.
Foster says she takes a lot of pride in MTS’s high engagement scores. “We empower our employees to perpetuate our unique culture, and our positive survey results reflect that.” The business continues to grow its presence in New Hampshire, recently adding several new employees in Sales, R&D and Quality functions.
“Cultural fit ranks high in our recruitment process,” states Foster, “and we know the Best Company distinction will help us reach more potential employees. We appreciate Business NH Magazine and NHBSR for highlighting the businesses that focus on building the right culture for their employees.”
